Or go to "Mail" in control panel and click on the "Accounts" button, sounds like you need to delete the existing Outlook account and add a new one.

I set outlook up as my default mail as you instructed (thanks). When I open it, it still comes up with the same microsoft exchange server message. The message only has a general tab that asks for the microsoft exchange server and mailbox name. I hate to sound so dumb but I dont know if I connect to a microsoft exchange server. This is my home pc and I just have an adsl connection through an isp here in Melbourne Australia. The name of the isp is iprimus. Hope I'm not confusing the issue anymore

If you open up Internet Explorer, go to tools-options-programs-email, then drop down that box and then pick outlook, then hit apply and ok. What you just did was setup Outlook as the default email handler. Now as far as the email error message, do you go through an Exchange server?

Hi There

I currently use at home Outlook express for my email. I have just realised that I also have outlook 2000 (didn't know it was part of office - duh!).

I'm trying to change my email so I can use microsoft outlook instead of outlook express but every time I open micorsoft outlook I get a message that says I have to provide the name of my microsoft exchange server and name and then I have to click on check name.

When I cancel this I get a message saying unable to open default email folders. The information stored could not be opened.

When I click through this message I get a message asking if I would like to open my default file system folder instead. If I choose no outlook closes down if I choose yes outlook opens as my computer but I cannot access any of the email tool items to fix or change anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Narelle
