Hi Josh1,
Thanks for the information ! Since I posted this,I have already been studying some features and doing cost comparisons of various ones. I decided on Adobe PhotoShop Elememts 5, it`s economical enough, has ease of use supposedly and seems to have what I need for basic photo editing.
I may not get into the movies aspect anyway, even though this new camera( which I received as a gift) has the capabilities for movies.
Thanks again,OK to close this now.

Well XP has a movie making program, but I don't know if it is what you want, I know the media guys here use Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, but I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. Final Cut Pro http://www.macworld.com/2005/07/reviews/finalcutpro/index.php Premier http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/ and also Photoshop http://www.macworld.com/2005/06/reviews/photoshopcs2/index.php Here is a comparison of editing software http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_video_editing_software and here is a list of software http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_editing_software
Let us know if you need any more help

Hi,
Fairly basic editing,I suppose, I do want good photos, but I`m not professional photographer. I may do a few movies, as my new digital camera can make movies.

Are you looking to do basic editing or advanced editing? What kind of editing will be done to your pictures?

I used Photo Studio 2.0 with Windows 98, easy to use and it did a good job. I tried it on my new computer with Windows XP, doesn`t work well and things look strange. I used the compatibility wizard to try to make things better, no real help. So now I must get another one. I had rather buy a new one than to use a driver, even if a driver is available, as I have used this software heavily since 1998.

Please suggest a very good image editing software for Windows XP, one with ease of use and I do want good results.I have read some reviews, but would appreciate your recommendation.
Thank you !
