I would definitely recommend that you back up important files in case it turns out that this problem is something serious. I personally have used StompSoft's PC BackUp http://www.stompsoft.com/pc-backup/pc-backup.html and have had success with it. It is easy to use, and it is affordable, which is important for me considering I always opt for freeware if possible.

Sounds like a hardware problem which a format would not fix.

Some spec's of your system may help.

Be aware that PB was widely known as the worst computer builder, they are not known for their quality.

I have a Packard bell PC, and for some reason it keeps turning off...?? I have done a re-format which I thought would of cured the problem and now started to install software that I need, and now I find that it again turned off.......please help..!!
