OK, I have figured out how the and where the ACLs need to be applied. But I still have yet to figure out how to create the Clustered Generic Script to apply the ACLs to the DFS folders.

Any ideas

We are attempting to utilize ABE on a Clustered Domain DFS root. We are having issues with getting ABE to work.

We have utilized Microsoft Q301588 on How to Use DFS on a Server Cluster to Maintain a Single Namespace and we have attempted the steps defined in Microsoft Article ID 907458 How to implement Windows Server 2003 Access-based Enumeration in a DFS environment.

The main issues that we are having are as follows.

Getting ABE to work on virtualized Cluster resources in a Domain DFS root

ABE command prompt returns an error of “Error getting Access Based Enumeration property on share “Servername”: 2310
Creation of a Script resource that will be added to the DFS Root Group in the Cluster Administrator Console to reapply ACLs after the cluster roles.

Getting cacls.exe to see the virtualized DFS link server.
One of the big problems we are finding is that there is little information on this fairly new tool. Can you please help direct us to where we can get more help?

"Windows Server 2003 Access-based Enumeration makes visible only those files or folders that the user has the rights to access. When Access-based Enumeration is enabled, Windows will not display files or folders that the user does not have the rights to access. This download provides a GUI and a CLI that enables this feature."
