The Trojan was present in the system restore volume, and was not delete. So when you turned off system restore, all the restore points were deleted, thus deleting the virus just let us know if you have any more problems.

I turned off the System restore and ran a full virus scan. Once completed I turned it back on. The problem appears to be gone.

You most likely need to turn off system restore, because of this

10/04/2006 4:56:01 PM SYSTEM 692 Sign of "Win32:Trojan-gen. {VC}" has been found in "C:\System Volume Information\_restore{47864CA5-9D41-4EB1-AF17-E45BE2574729}\RP526\A0089234.exe" file.

Those are Trojans Your firewall right, make sure that the setting is set to high, I had a virus on one of my system a Trojan and I pulled up my firewall and my settings were set to medium and I did not change it. Do you have hijack this? Go ahead and run a log.

Hi all;

For the last few weeks when my PC comes out of hibernation I get a warning from Avast that it has found a virus. The usual suggested action is to put it in the chest. I've copied part of the Avast log file below. Can anyone tell me what's going on and what I can do to stop this? I keep my a/v software and firewall up to date and ran Housecall last weekend with no viruses found.
