Okay you should have an earlier date, try that and let us know what happens. I have heard of that problem before with the floppy drive let me see if I can find anything on it.

I would like to do all that but my system has a restore date of the day before today so that will not help. Thanks anyway.
One other thing: when my pc is turned on I will be surfing or playing a game and without any warning something from my pc tries to access my A drive (floppy). Even when there is nothing in it. As it does this, everything else slows right down until it stops (of it's own accord!). It doesn't seem to be related to my other problem.

Okay try this, reboot your computer, then before the Me splash screen you must hit the F8 key until you see a menu. So right after your computer reboots, press F8 until you see that menu then from the menu go to safe mode, once in safe mode, go to start run then type scanreg /restore then pick a date before the problem. If this method does not work then get back to the menu (by the same method) but then time go to command prompt only. Then at the C:\ type scanreg /restore then pick a date before the problems. Then you can restart the computer, let us know if this works or not.

Hi thanks for the help, but that did not work! I got the following messages when trying to setup the MSNToolbar: Error creating process. <C:\Temp\1XP000.TMP\SETUP.EXE> Reason - a device attached to the file is not functioning. and SETUP.EXE file is linked to missing export AVAP132.DLLConvertStringsSecurityDescriptorToSecurity DescriptorW
I would be happy to try any other suggestions you have. Thanks again

Hi, I get a pop up message when I am online:
"The MSNAPPAU file is linked to missing export ADVAP132.DLL:ConvertStringsSecurityDescriptorToSecurityDescriptorW".
Can anyone tell me how to get this back or how to fix it? Thank you all.
