Here is info for the Group Policy, I do not know where the policy to prevent downloads would be. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307882 Now as far as Me, Me does not have a Policy editor as 95 and 98 does, so you will need to go into the registry. Now this key is for all versions of windows, http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/901/ but if you mess up the registry then your computer will be useless. Note if you use the registry method then that computer will not be able to download files. This means even you or anyone else will be unable to download files. What browser are you using, are you using AOL if you are then you can setup parental controls. Do you have user accounts setup in XP? ------------------ For every problem, there is a solution. Please give what you can to the Hurricane relief http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/citizenship/giving/relief.asp IP: Logged |

I need to protect my system from unwanted downloads (my teenager!). Anyone know how to set the policy in Windows ME and XP so that only I (or others with privileges) can permit downloads? IP: Logged |
