Josh the CD is a dell but I ran it and it didn't work. I am back on my WXP computer to check my E-Mail.I had 81 E-Mails to take care of. Next week I will get back on the WMe and I will give you a call. I wanted to get the WMe in good working order in case I needed it. Thanks for your time. Have a nice weekend,

Okay so its not a OEM cd, it came with your computer from Dell? Does that cd have the words Dell on it? Need be if we have to go into the regsitry we can walk you into this. And a backup is a must, we can do that also.

Before doing anything with the registry it's best to back it up. As well, when doing registry edits it's best to take your time, so no mistakes are made.

Thanks guys. I have already done the first part of the web site Hugger gave me but the second part about the registry scares me. A couple of years ago something went wrong with the registry. The computer was under warranty at the time and Dell couldn't find the problem so they had me to reinstall the operating system. A Dell guy walked me through the process and as I remember it was a long drawn out process.
I just found a CD that came with the computer entitled "Operating System" and underneath "Reinstallation CD WMe." I am going to run this and I will let you know what happens.

A reinstall would be a pain, hopefully we can avoid that. Lets see what happens here.

Only other solution I see is a complete reinstall of the OS. I don't think he wants to go that route. I know I only use that one as a last resort.

I cannot receive E-Mails because the password was rejected. I haven't used this computer in a couple years and I don't know what password I used. How can I delete or disable the user ID and Password?
