Hi Josh1,
Thank you ! I really appreciate this. I will follow your instructions.

Now I have other questions, before I do the above procedure that you gave me.
I am going to try to teach myself Arabic and need Arabic fonts. They are on my computer already, now I have engaged the feature English/Arabic, so I can easily switch from one to the other. Will this affect the instructions above that you gave me? Or will it interfere in any way with the normal computer operation, so that I would need to change anything else?
Thanks again !

Try this

Restore default XP Fonts:

1. Make a folder C:\WINDOWS\FONTS.NEW
2. Open Command Prompt and go to the i386 folder of your Windows XP CD-ROM (or C:
drive if there)
3. Type: expand -r *.tt_ C:\WINDOWS\FONTS.NEW *.ttf
4. Type: expand -r *.fo_ C:\WINDOWS\FONTS.NEW *.fon
5. Type: expand DESKTOP.IN_ C:\WINDOWS\FONTS.NEW\DESKTOP.INI (this file
makes the Fonts folder "special" with all the features).
6. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, go to your WINDOWS\FONTS folder. (Do NOT
go to Fonts from the Control Panel).
7. Copy all the files you see, and paste them into the WINDOWS\FONTS.NEW folder.
Choose "No to All" when prompted to overwrite. (This step will ensure that all
extra fonts that you or programs have added, will be available afterwards.)
8. Restart your computer into the Windows Recovery Console by booting with the Windows
XP CD-ROM and pressing "R" in the Setup.
9. Go to C:\WINDOWS and type: ren FONTS FONTS.OLD
10. Type: ren FONTS.NEW FONTS

You're all set! Just restart your computer.

I need to clarify my problem more. The script type itself, also changes back by itself, no matter to what I have changed it. In other words, I change things, the formatting doesn`t hold, as it all changes back by itself.

Hi,
I have Windows XP Home Ed. Have nevr been able to lock in the size and style of fonts, when I use WordPad. I do the fonts format, key in my choices. It appears to be OK, but it never locks in. That is, the size and style of fonts change back to what it was, no matter to what I have changed it. What can I do to fix this problem , as the font formatting procedure does not hold ?
Thanks !
