The wire that you use to plug into the computer to get on the Internet is unplugged, simply plug it in the computer Internet data port. Have a look at this http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3DRJ-45%2Bport%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26toggle%3D1%26cop%3Dmss%26ei%3DUT F-8&w=492&h=405&imgurl=www.sid.cam.ac.uk%2Findepth%2Fcomp%2FRJ45Modlbl.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sid.cam.ac.uk%2Findepth%2Fcomp%2FNetCon.html&size=48.9kB&name=RJ45Modlbl.jpg&p=RJ-4 5+port&type=jpeg&no=11&tt=3,646&oid=8ec387d1b100fb0c&ei=UTF-8

You may need to copy that link into your address bar to go to it, I am unable to make it smaller. So when you see that picture, the Rj-45 wire is for DSL, and Cable and the other wire is for use of a dial up connection,. jsut plug the cable into the right port, and it should work
