I believe that you could install IE 7.0, then delete it via add remove programs If you don’t want to do this method then let me know, as what may need to be done is delete the Automatic History. Or just try something else.

Yes and I downloaded but didnt think I got it work, but so far it has quit poping back up. I also restored to an earlier date. This gave me the previous update and an option not to update automatically. I downloaded the updates from that update session and selected the manual update option. So far so good. Thanks for your help again.

Okay you most likely do not want to totally disable the windows installer because then that would disable anything that uses this and that would be no good. So have a look at this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4516A6F7-5D44-482B-9DBD-869B4A90159C&displaylang=en Did you download anything from Windows update or did automatic update download anything Internet Explorer 7.0?

That’s annoying, so it loads at Windows Startup? You could disable Windows Installer, but this would totally disable the Installer for any product that would use it. Or you could install IE 7.0 again you may not want to do this, I am thinking you could clear what data is in the Installer, but I don't know where the location would be? Maybe in the Temporary Internet files folder? Better yet have a look at this http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/guidance/serversecurity/tcg/tcgch09n.mspx then go down to Internet Explorer Computer Settings have a look at that and see if that helps or not.

My computer tried to update and load IE 7(?). I unchecked the box and clicked to close. Now every time I startup the box for Windows Installer pops up and I have to tell it to cancel. sometimes 2 or 3 times before it goes away.
