Lets see if you go to start-run then type in dxdiag press enter, you should now see the Direct X conifg window. Also have a look here and see if this helps if not then let us know. http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-003994.htm this solution does not exactly apply to you, because you are not playing games when the problem happens, but the solutions that appear in this article may help you. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=191660 I have moved your topic to Windows XP, which can be found here: Powered by Intelligent Computing Solutions. For every problem, there is a solution. Please give what you can to the Hurricane relief [This message has been edited by Josh1 (edited December 03, 2006).] IP: Logged |

I'm installing the Oxford English Dictionary, 2nd. edition on Windows XP Professional. At a certain point they show me an icon. When I click over the icon I see the following message: "The application requires DirectDraw Acceleration which is not available in your system. Please enable it in "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" (dxdiag.exe) in the Tab "Display". Question 1) How and where can I download this DirectDraw Acceleration? Question 2) I don't see any tab called "Display". Where I am supposed to see it? I have searched everything in my Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 browser to no avail. Sometimes Nero Express 7 which I installed today pops-up when I click over that icon (the above mentioned icon which shows a CD image and has below it "OED2.DAT" Thanks a lot to everybody who may be able to help me. This is a too confusing problem. ------------------ IP: Logged |
