After I did the config the internet worked. I'm getting so sick of this though! I looked through the firewall stuff but nothing seemed out of the ordinary..

So the Ipconfig did work, does the connection still seem to be lost? You also may want to check the firewall for Trend Micro and make sure it not blocking anything.

Try this, go to start-run type in CMD then type in ipconfig/release then after that gets done type in ipconfig/renew

I tried the repair when it happened again, but nothing happened. My network connections still says I'm connected & firewalled [like they always say].

Did you try the repair, or you did and that was the message that came up?

If you go to control panel then Network Connections, then find your DSL connection right click it then hit repair and see if that works for you. If not then let us know.

We have a DSL connection. Something weird happened today too. I restarted it, because it went out again, and then it kept rebooting itself right as I thought it was going to fully load [like MSN started, etc.]. It was REALLY weird. Then I couldn't run goback, because I thought it was a virus. Then I went into safe mode, ran two spywear scanners, deleted all the cookies and MRU lists it found, and then it worked. Very odd.

So yesterday my brother installed a trendmicro virus protecter, and now all of a sudden about ever hour - 2 hours the internet stops working. On the MSN troubleshoot it says my default gateway isn't connected or something. I have no idea why it's doing this but I have to restart it whenever it starts. Help?
