So after deleteing these updates did this help any? Go here www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html and download Process Explorer run it this will tell you in real time what is running and maybe could point us to find out if anything is eating up your CPU %

I don’t see anything, in the hijack scan, when you go to add remove programs you should see them towards the bottom. You may have to check the show updates box at the top of the add remove program window, then remove the one by one, then to install them back, Windows should use automatic updates should pick them back up and download them for you. Or you will need to go to windows updates to manually download them

Post a hijack this log, and then you can uninstall the updates one by one until you find the culprit, or if that does not help then we could try something else. We might also need for you to download Process Explorer.

Has anybody found a solution to this post?
As I am having the same problem that started a month ago. i wiped out the hard drive and reinstalled everything to no avail. I thing it might have started after a XP update, but i'm not sure.

Here is the post from May 11, 2006
Hi Josh, thanks for getting back to me. The screen, cursor etc freezes for around 10-20 seconds. I move the mouse & nothing happens. This happens at different times. Sometimes it doesn't happen for hours, but other times it's every 10 minutes. I checked out my event viewer, to see what errors it said had occured at the times it was freezing. I noticed one error in particular that said something about the mouse buffer speed was overflowing. I adjusted the buffer speed, but it didn't seem to make much difference. I uninstalled my mouse & have replaced it with my Wacom graphics tablet. I dont have that error message anymore, but it doesnt seem to have any errors listed that coincide with the times that the computer freezes. What are the two files that you listed to do with? Are they important & do I need to replace them?

When the above and below happens, everything freeezes, the hour glass appears, the sereen blinks, and something is sent over the internet. Then, all programs slow to a craw to the point of needing a reboot - then it starts again.
I have ZoneAlarm Suit - Norton 2006 - Webroot Spy Sweeper and other protection - nothing comes up with scan.

What I have found and wrote to some at PCBS who is an tech for a program that is having problems because of this:

David, i have, at least, found what is going on when PCSB and word freezes. When this happens, something was connecting to the internet, but i did not know what. This happens even when PCBS is not running. I was watching word and noticed it happening every 5-10 minutes. i then shut down all permission to access the internet from all programs in Zone Alarm except "system programs". The problem still happened. I then watched word and Zone Alarm and found that when it happens "Generic Host Process for win32 Services" was the system program connecting to the internet. When this hapens, everything stops and i can't even use the mouse. SOOOooooo, what ever program is using Generic Host Process Win32 to connect or "send" something over the internet is the culprit
