Ok i figured it out. Basicly i was right the legacy havinh no drivers was causing a software conflict with the actual sounds drivers with the on board sounds card. I would not suggest doing this but this is what i did.

Basicly i tried to update the driver...knowing i would not find any. When i went back to search a certain location i just check the box saying i would sign the driver my self. I basicly choice the same driver as the sound card. Once it was a signed i deleted the what use to be the legacy device and low and behold......sound. Thanks for the help.

wish there was but there isn't on any of the sounds devices. As said i find it odd the the legacy decives show no driver list upon checking them throught properties.

I currently have no sound at all. Now i have downloaded that aida32 program. This is the listing on the multimedia

midi-in.0 0001 0067 MPU-401
midi-out.0 0001 0066 Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
midi-out.1 0001 0066 MPU-401
mixer.0 0001 0068 Avance AC'97 Audio
wave-in.0 0001 0065 Avance AC'97 Audio
wave-in.1 0001 0050 Modem #2 Line Record
wave-out.0 0001 0064 Avance AC'97 Audio
wave-out.1 0001 0051 Modem #2 Line Playback

Now everything is saying it is working currently, also the audio vloume is unmuted as well as the speaker plugged in correctly. Here is the kicker.....Legach audio driver, and legacy video capture.

More are showing they are working currectly but under properties that list no drivers. I have a feeling this is the source of my problem. However i have tried to update the driver with both the win 98 and win xp to no luck. What do you suggest?
