Boot off the cd and try to partition and format that way. Let us know if this helps or not.

I have been following a lot of threads in this forum...but am hitting problems. I have a Medion computer which I am sure was running Windows XP.
When I go through the sequence to boot using the fdisk prompt, I get the message..."the file retten.exe is missing in the original directory...if you have deleted it you have to start from manual"...
I have not got a clue!!!!
Can anyone or am I best just taking it to a shop for repair and maybe getting new hard drive?????
Can anyone help with plain instructions please.
