Sometimes installing on top of a previous OS will mess things up other times it will fix the problem. Have you tried just to format the drive and start over? ------------------ For every problem, there is a solution. Hey guys, ive this major problem: recently i got a dosis of spyware, which i erased with S&D, spyware XT, spyware doctor 2006 and hijack this!, and then i ran ccleaner...After running ccleaner i started to get error messages when i ran shortcuts. Then i decided to reinstall windows, and at some point during reisntall it just crashed and i had to reboot, that was my mistake, i started to get a blue screen...then i booted windows trough my Xp PRo disc, hoping it would reinstall it all, and then it got ugly: after i oot from cd, i get a screen saying that i have a previous attempt of installing windows, and if i want to cancel it and reinstall another or just ontinue with that one...If i choose reinstall NEW ONE it reinstalls everything, then after the XP screen of loading the mouse appears on screen and thats it...Nothing happens, and when i choose continue with the same, it opens the windows installing blue screen and then it stops at around 39 min and says: windows catn find the previous attempt of installation. I already tried reisntalling MBR and BOOT sectors from the recovery console, and it just wont start. Hope you cand find a solution to this. Thanks in advance... I dont know ia this could help also: when i try to run it under failsafe mode, i get the mouse on screen and the letters at around the scren, then is just stops and nothing happens until i reboot it...
