it needs to run chkdsk, i will probably format my harddrive and start fresh, with a working product key

And partition magic cannot run because it needs to run chkdsk or is it a different error message?

Sorry, still having problems with PM 8..i tried doing the suggested chkdsk but when it tries on start up it says it can't do it.

Thanks for all your help. I have visited the web site and tried to do chkdsk C:/r and it says it will do it when it restarts but it still is a problem.

With the F switch you are telling chkdsk to fix errors on the disk. Reboot the computer and to see chkdsk runs.

When i try to defrag my c; drive this i s what it says " disk defrag has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume (c please run chkdsk /f

Where are you running chkdsk from? A command prompt? If so you need to look at the switches needed to correct the errors rather than just find them.

Do a chkdsk /? to see a list of available switches.

I used PM 8 and it worked, now i am trying to run defrag my drive and it says i can't because Chkdsk needs to be run. So i do that and it say it found errors and connot continue in read only mode. What do i do next, i am running xp. Thanks for any help!
