OK ... tried "Last Known Good Configuration" ... no drive and just in case I'm re-scanning for bugs as I am typing.

Okay the registry, have you tried booting with last known good configuration? And are you sure all bad things are gone from the computer?

OK, here is the run down, the drive shows up on my Device Manager. The status however is "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)." I have been made aware that this issue is caused by the removal of the Roxio Easy CD Creator software, and that to correct requires one to access the "regedit" program. However when ever I try to run the "regedit" program, the black command screen comes up empty and only momentarily not allowing me to make any corrections.

Now just to give you a heads up on what I have tried so far .... I have tried, while in safe mode, to uninstall the DVD/CD-RW Driver, to then boot up in normal mode ... doesn't work. I have tried to have my computer read from the DVD/CD-RW Drive first, setting this up through the BIOS ... no luck. I have tried to find a downloadable boot software and haven't had any luck, yet ... Hell, I have tried the Windows Registry Repair & Registry Fix softwares, and still no luck ... I figure if I can just get my drive back, I may be able to save the rest of my computer.

Your welcome, alright you got everything deleted when you ran those scans? Are you still having the same problems? Do your drives show up in my computer, do they show up in the BIOS?

Are you able to boot off the Hard drive? Lets try this, lets make sure you got rid of everything, if you have not already go here http://www.footslog.com/board/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20050327-16-000026.html
And download Adaware, Spybot and Ms Antispyware update them all and delete anything that is found. Then go here housecall.trendmicro.com and run the online virus scan deleting anything that is found. Let us know what happens with the scans.

I'm i one hell of a pickle. I recently caught a worm and rid my system of it, however I lost some very important parts of my PC in the process. My Comp. currently does not recognize my DVD /CD-RW Drive, it is my only way to Boot since I have no Floppy Drive, so I can't even Re-Boot my system. I found out the issue revovles around trying to delete files related to the Roxio Easy CD Creator software, which I had, but I can't even do the recommended "regedit" fix. Is my PC doomed ?
