I cannot find any downloads to change the file association for you, so you will need to change the registry. Unless someone can point out another way.

Well the registry is the backbone of the OS, it is not the complicated but if you mess up and change the wrong value then you can mess your system up. I will try to find a program that will change the registry for you so that you do not have to do it.

I'm logged in as the owner. I don't know what you're talking about changing the registry?

Try this right click the file and then choose open with, then select the right program and check the box that says always use this program to open this file. Let us know if that helps you.

Okay, so my friend sent me these video files for AIM, but everytime I try to open them I get something that says "Choose the program you want to use to open this file" and then I have to pick which one I want to open it with. When I try to open it with Real Player it says I need an update, but then I checked and it said there are none available. Also, I make little videos in Windows Movie Maker, and because these files are like this they won't open. All of the other videos that I made and my other friend sent me work, and for File Type it says Windows Media(TM) Video File, but for the others it says File. Help me change these files so that they work? Please
