When you see the emachines logo press the Delete key until you are in, then go to the very first meun, look at the time is it right? Don't change anything in the BIOS, just exit without save.

The machine is 10 months old. I have to manually update the time and date by double clicking on the clock in the right hand bottom corner of the screen.

Does it fix itself when you log back on, or just messes up when you log off? How old is the machine, it might be the battery going out.

Might be the battery, if you go to the clock on the taskbar and bring up the properties, do you have it to where it will automatically synchronize itself with the Internet sever?

My system clock seems to revert back to 1st jan 2002 every time I log off the machine.

This means I cannot access the internet until a change the time and date to the current settings.

Do I have a virus? How can I stop it?
