It was the monitor. Now I must find out what is causing that with that monitor. Thanks Josh1.

Do you have another monitor you could try, or you might want to try another video card or move the video card to another slot if there is another slot available.

During the boot up, which I can quickly see at random times booting up, the monitor will make a clicking sound and then go blank. The monitor light still stays on. I don't hear any other sounds but those random clicks when the monitor goes blank. The last few times I've got it to stay on, I was able to keep turning on and off the monitor only to quickly use the mouse to open up desktop properties. Once in there I selected settings, advanced, changed the screen refresh rate to 60 and it stayed on. Another time while turning on and off the monitor to quickly see windows and use the mouse, I selected properties again changed color to 16bit and the monitor stayed on. It seems to me that when I change something it forces it to stay on. However doing this didn't solve the problem but only for the time being. Once booted again it continues with the click and blankness.

Sounds like no signal is being sent to the monitor from the video card. Do you hear any beeps when you boot up your machine? If so tell us how many and if they are long or short if you just get one short beep then that means the system has passed its test.

Not sure what is happening here but my monitor goes blank, can hear the click, while booting up and it stays like that. The lcd light stays on as well. I've tried turning off the monitor and turning it back on only to see quickly that windows has booted up correctly then the monitor clicks off again. I've turned the modem box off during boot up and it seems to boot up fine without that problem. Once booted, I turn on the modem and everything still seems to be running fine. Don't know what is going on here. Can someone shed some light on this situation please?
