Actalert.exe is something you do not need on your computer. So go here, http://www.footslog.com/board/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20050327-16-000026.html download Spybot, Adaware, and MS antispyware, run all of the programs and hopefully this should delete that file, and any other files you do not need on your computer. You may also have a program called Moneytree that is no good as well. Lets get rid of the spyware first then we can remove Norton, you will most likely need to boot into safe mode to delete Norton. First run the programs I told you to download delete any objects that are found. Restart your computer and run the scans again. I am going to move your topic to Cyber Safety you can go to your question here: http://www.footslog.com/board/Forum18/HTML/000535.html

I have been getting a popup from microsoft about a program actalert.exe. MS says that to remove the software I should use the add or remove programs function. This doesn't work nor does Norton's Utilities. A message comes up saying the file is protected and cannot be erased. I don't even know what this program is.
