Could be the router, you may want to check to find out. ------------------

It is version 10. I don't know if the router is blocking the connection, but that is what I'm thinking. And I don't know if we have any firewalls. [This message has been edited by h0llyb0b0lly (edited June 13, 2005).] IP: Logged |

Which version of Windows Media Player do you have? If you have a router, is that blocking the connection of Windows media Player? Do you have a firewall installed on this machine? ------------------

This computer used to be the main computer when we got DSL, but we recently moved it and now it is using a wireless adapter to get DSL. for some reason, it won't play anything on windows media player anymore. Occassionally it will play a few certain songs, but for most it doesn't. I always get this message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. In the Open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")." Someone please help me! IP: Logged |
