Yea the reason I asked for the model/make number is so that I could have looked up your PC and see the specifications as that would have helped in finding the solution. have a look at this for your problem, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;293077 it does say it OS for Windows 2000, which I do not know you have but it should not matter.

A Stop error could mean that you have some conflicting software, or driver issues, have you recently installed any new software or drivers lately besides the Cmedia one? From what I have read is that if you are getting the error message, then that hardware might not be compatible with windows XP, and suggest that you buy hardware that is compatible with XP. What is the name and model number of your PC?

You are welcome, you still get the error message? In the error message do you see the words STOP then a number a zeros, and or letters? If so then we need that entire error message

I take it C Media is your sound card then? When does it happen when you are not playing games, does it always happen after a certain event, or always at random times?

What game are you playing, does it happen to may game or just a few? What is the exact name of your video card, you might need to obtain the latest drivers for this device.
