You will need to go into safe mode to delete it, to do this restart your computer, when the computer is restarting, press the F8 key. Make sure you press the F8 key before the XP background with the green status bar. When you are in safe mode run the spyware program, also go here, http://www.footslog.com/board/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20050327-16-000026.html download Spyware, and MS Spyware, and run all of them in safe mode. Then after you run the scans, reboot normally, let us know if you have any other problems. I also suggest you get a firewall and an Antivirus program if you do not already. I am going to move your question to Cyber Safety, you can go to your topic here: http://www.footslog.com/board/Forum18/HTML/000511.html ------------------

I recently downloaded an emulater to play NES games on my new computer. After the download I started getting unsolicited popups. After running AdAware I found the culprit. In my program files there is a file named "SurfSidekick3" which was created the exact same time of my download. Properties also show that it is modified when I connect to the net and is accessed constantly while I am connected to the internet. I tried to delete it but I get the message that I can't delete is because it is being used by another person or program. I closed everything but it still gave me the same message. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this pesty, unwelcomed hitchhiker? IP: Logged |
