Make sure the power cable on the back of the monitor has a tight connection, also makes sure the video cable that plugs into the back of the PC itself is tight. Do you have an extension cable that goes with the monitor? If you do not know what I am talking about, then I doubt you have one.

Hey all
I've had this computer since August '04. Just over the past couple days my monitor has been flickering quite a bit (fading in and out) and now today it keeps turning off. The moniitor light does not go off but the screen goes blank.
The speakers are plugged directly into the monitor and they continue to play sounds.
The only thing that fixes this is if I unplug the monitor from the wall and then plug it back in.

I have no idea what is causing this. I know how to fix in temporarly but I don't want to have to keep unplugging and re-plugging it back in.

I have tried updating my drivers and also un-installing and re-installing the monitor and no luck after doing that either.

From what I can see all the cables seem to be fine as well. Nothing is bent and what not.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm a university student and I definately don't have another $1900.00 to blow on a new computer or even any money really to replace anything unless 100% necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Ash.
