You cannot even open them in safe mode? If not then we will need to do a virus scan, then we will need to boot into safe mode with networking support, let me know if you can or cannot open the programs in safe mode. ------------------

I have all of those programs. I can't open them! I open and the moment they're done loading they close. IP: Logged |

You will need to download Adaware, Spybot, and MSSpyware, and then most likely you will need to run them in safe mode. When you restart the computer, press the f8 key until you get to a menu then from that menu choose safe mode and then you should be able to run your Antivirus program. You can download Adaware; Spybot at www.download.com and MSSpyware http://www.footslog.com/board/Forum18/HTML/000437.html let us know if you have any other problems. ------------------

My computer has the following problems. Programs open for the most part, but no security based programs (Spybot, Norton Antivirus, Windows Firewall etc.) or Administration programs (like System Restore :'() will open. The window flashes up and then closes. When I try and System Restore it says 'System restore has been turned off by group policy' and although I can't access administrative functions through my control panel, I can access group Policy editor through gpedit.msc but then I can't re-enable system restore (it closes). Last time it worked Norton Anti-Virus needed urgent attention and also Windows Firewall keeps flashing up that something is blocked and Firefox is being denied a connection (IE works, though it does not allow automatic downloads). What can I do? Someone said they think they got a virus from someone over MSN, but I have no way of deleting it! Ideas anyone?
