On the host computer the port settings are under "preferences" at the top of the screen, for the remote you find it under "details" on the "Connection Info" page.

Sorry for the delay in answering, I am working on a large server project and it is sucking up most of my time right now.

"YOu then configure the remote for that system to use those ports, when you connect it will know exactly where to go."

I can open the ports 5633-5634 on the router. But where do I change the settings on PCAnywhere?

Do I change the settings on pcanywhere on the host computer I'm trying to connect to? If so, do I go to PCAnywhere Options, Host Communications, advanced, and then change the Date port to 5633 and then change the status port to 5634.

Or do I change the settings on the computer I'm using (remote) to connect to the host computer at the office? If so where do I make the change. I can't find where to change the ports on the remote.

Or if neither of above please explain.
thanks

What I do is change the default ports in PCAW to a different set, the defaults are 5631-5632 and I set them to 5633-5634. Open the ports on the router to use those ports on the other system. YOu then configure the remote for that system to use those ports, when you connect it will know exactly where to go.

I have a dsl modem and a router at my office and two computers are connected to it. I have a dynamic dsl service and I have signed up with dns2go which provides me with a link to the correct and current dsl address. It is running on one of the computers that we can call "computer1"

Computer1 runs windows 98se and I have installed pcanywhere on it, opened the correct ports, and it runs the host pcanywhere program. I am able to connect to it from home using pcanywhere remote.

How do I connect to "computer2" in the office? Do I need to make any changes in the router? What will happen if I run the host pcanywhere program on computer2? When I'm home and connect using the remote and pointing to my xxxxx.dns2go.com how will the computer know which computer to connect to?
