It appears that your registry is messed up, and it also looks like some critical Windows files are hidden, and the scan did not pick them up. After you delete those files, then run the virus scan again and run Hijack this again post the results in your next reply.

According to the virus scan this needs to be stopped from loading because it's a virus, C:\WINDOWS\System32\Etv6.exe

This is a virus loading as well, C:\WINDOWS\System32\Dtckd376.exe

Stop them from loading and you should be able to delete them.

OK , that went well enough, so here's some more info---
I ran the virus scan also and it found 6. Three were deleted but the program said the other 3 could not be, because they were in use or something like that.
the 3 left are--

" "\Jle7.exe or JIe7.exe

I don't know why this pc is not going crazy right now--usually it would be by this time.I did note one difference beteween this communication and the last attempted communication---my home page somehow got switched from MyYahoo to Yahoo. I guess it switched during the time when the pc was off its nut. I shut everything down and started up again. I even had to manualy restart, as the screen froze-up part way through the restart initiated by clicking the restart button on screen.

First lets run Hijack this http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/ download and install and run Hijack this, then run a scan and copy the results into your next reply. Have you ran AdAware? And a virus scan? For the virus scan, go here http://www.housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_frame.asp
register and run the scan. Then if any thing is found, let us know. I would delete the following. Make sure you run both scan’s and let us know the results.

Hi Josh,
I've got several problems.
1--I get popups even when not on line. When I've been away from my computerfor a while, I come back to find a screen full of popups, windows that look like IE sites(title bars with names like "_____ Microsofe Internet Explorer", or with URLs, and some that open in front of a screen with a messege like "do you want to make ____ your home page"? or "do you want to istall ____?" Some are also full screen(no title bar). The messenger function is already disabled. Also, when I am online, these things (always the sameones) begin to popup at an increasing rate. Sometimes behind the window I'm in or as buttons on the taskbar. Of course when they popup, they disrupt whatever I'm doing, like typing or scrolling.
2--After being online for just a very few minutes, my computer begins to lose control (or take control). I lose the ability to log in for e-mail and such, because of a keyboard malfunction. The cap lock comes on automatically and when I release it, only the letters are put back to lower case--the numbers stay locked in symbol mode. All the while I'm on line the computer keeps making clicking sounds, and with each click my actions (with mouse or keyboard) are interupted, forcing me to start over. A couple of other wierd occurances are that when I try to click the screen to get back the abillity to scroll, instead, something on the page gets highlighted. Around this time I also lose the aility to scroll altogether, as each turn of the wheel produces a click and jumping forward and back to different pages of the web site.
I'm very lucky to have gotten this far without losing control of this process, so I'm going to press on while I can and ask anothe question.
I' wodering if you could tell me what these files and programs are and if it would be safe and/or advisable to delete them?

DI may not have typed each letter in these file names correctly, but they are very close.
