You should be able to many at one time. If that does not work then try one at a time. What software are you talking about?

I can only do one at a time, right?

What's the difference between the two?

For some unknown reason yes. Now when I use the back button while surfing there is a smaller delay. Could it be the software that the moderator suggested? Was I being tracked every move I made? Thanks Footslog.

Some garbage emails are still getting through.

It was pretty easy to set up as you described. What's wrong?

Here is the rule:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the Subject line contains '*****' or '*****'
or Where the message body contains 'sex' or '*****'
Do not Download it from the server

I am however still getting emails with the word ***** in the subject line.

How did I ever get on this email lest?

Dominic

Nope no need to download anything. Now we need to make a rule. This is what you want. Every email that contains the word "sex" we can have Outlook delete it for you right then and there. Or we can setup other rules such as if they are from certain people if the message has an attachment etc or if the message body has certain words that you specify. To do this, in Outlook go to Tools-Message Rules-Mail- then click what you want. For instance if you want every email that contains the word "sex to be deleted then you would check where it says "specific words then at the very bottom you will see that in blue click that and enter the words sex, then press add and you have just setup a filter. Now you can name that filter if you would like. Also you can check more then one rule, so you can check the subject, and specific words, attachments all in the same rule. Also you can put more then one word in the rue. Then after that is done you need to tell Outlook if an email like that is found what you want Outlook to do with it delete it, don't download it etc.. Remember to click OK after you create the rule, you can also edit and view your rules. When you click OK you will see the rules you have made.

We can setup filters in Outlook, however the only thing is that the filter will not work for HTTP& IMAP accounts. This download, http://download.com.com/3000-2382-10192299.html?tag=lst-0-7 is a good one but the only thing is that it will only check one account. This one, http://download.com.com/3000-2382-10132544.html?tag=lst-0-6
is a good one better then the other link, however it has a 30 day trial. So we can setup filters in Outlook but if your email account is either a HTTP or IMAP it will not work. Try this in Outlook go to Tools-Accounts-Mail then click on your mail then go to properties, then go to server, under server information what type does it say you have?

Also, Can you recommend a filter program?

Some companies give your email address out to other companies and that is how they get your email address, and that is why you get emails like that. You need to insure that whatever you buy, or sign up for whatever their privacy policy says they will not sell or give your email address to 3rd parties. Also if you notice, in your and everyone elses profile on this site, everyone's email address is hidden, the reason that is, is because "Spiders" float around the Internet and get email address from sites like ours. However they cannot get yours from Footslog because it is hidden. And we also will never sell or give out your email address for any reason without your consent. No, AdAware will not prevent spam in your inbox, however we can setup a filters are you using Outlook? Or download a filter program and or add in for Outlook. If you set it on never then Internet Explorer will never change to the current page. For instance if you look at a webpage from yesterday, and then you go to the same page two weeks later, you will still see the same content from two weeks ago again even though the site's content may have changed you will not see the change unless you manually hit F5.

It seems to go back faster when the setting is set to "never" instead of "automatic"

Is that possible?

No I didn't click on purchase. I'll try that to see if there is a choice to get the CD mailed to me. Thanks.

Before I do that however, which version do you recommend?

Before you answer that, I'd like to mention that I'd like to filter my emails and remove unsolicited emails offerring sex. (I swear I have never signed up to any sex service and don't know how they got my email) Will adaware help in any way? Is there anything that will help?

That will provide the fastest speed but over time Internet Explorer may not refresh it to the current page. If you would like go back to that menu, and then for each choice left click and go to what is this, that will explain everything. Did you go to this link? http://www.lavasoftusa.com/purchase/home/ then click on purchase.

Yes, that is the feature. I couldn't find it.

Its set to automatically. Is that the best place for fast web browsing?

Can I get a CD copy of the AD-aware? I emailed them but no response.

That would not be high for your system. I was thinking of a figure at 75% or more and staying at 75. That is normal what you describe, so that is not the problem. Its still in here, if this is the feature you are talking about. In Internet Explorer to Tools-Internet Options- then look for Temporary Internet Files then go to Settings- Is this what you are referring too? You are welcome for the AdAware, well in the settings of Adaware, the ones that are grayed out are the ones available in the professional version. The feature Adwatch is nice it monitors your system for any incoming spyware and deletes it. So yes I think the upgrade version is worth it. If that is the feature you are thinking about, then try what you were thinking, about in the older versions of Internet Explorer, if that does not work then we may have to reinstall Internet Explorer.

I just re-read your instructions. What do you consider high? It spikes up to about 18 % for a moment and then drops down to 1.

Thanks for the link to adwatch. It found over 50 items to quarantine. Is the upgrade product for purchase worth while?

Yes I do have IE 6 with service pack 1. I tested it as you requested and when you click on the back button the usage goes up and then goes down again quickly. What does that mean?

Also, I remember on the older internet explorer it gave you a choice of going to the website each time to refresh or using what you have in history. I cannot find this setting in my current version. I don't understand why it takes so long sometimes to go back to a page I just visited if its already in history? Shouldn't it just find it in my memory? Can't I set IE 6 with service pack 1 to do this?

Dom

Try this, go here, and download Adaware http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10214379.html?tag=lst-0-1
You may also want to delete your temporary files, and also check in task manager for any unneeded processes. You also have Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1? Open up the task manager by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc and then go to Performance, and everytime you go to a new web address, notice if your CPU usage it is high? Does it stay high? Let us know that.

Has anyone else had these two problems and how can they be solved; I have windows xp and a dual xeon processor computer which is plenty fast with the latest version of IE.

1. When surfing the internet and using the back button there is a long delay? (Is there an IE setting which will speed it up or other way to speed it up)

2. When saving to my favorites (I have a lot), there is a long delay where I have to wait and cannot do anything else? How can simply saving a favorite slow down and stop the computer for so long?

Thanks,
