I've had my PC now for over 3 hours and connected to the Internet with no problems. So I guess that suggestion fixed it. IP: Logged |

It's all sites. My Internet connection is dialup upload and high speed microwave download. IP: Logged |

Just these two sites? And when you ping the sites, you still get the host not found? Are you using your cable, or dialup for this connection? ------------------ IP: Logged |

It's been doing it again. The only solution so far is to restart my PC. Any idea what's going on? IP: Logged |

Have you tried to repair IE ------------------ IP: Logged |

It happened again. I get a message saying the host can't be found. I tried pinging footslog.com and yahoo.ca IP: Logged |

Go to start-run type cmd, then at the prompt type the ping command. For example if you wanted to ping Footslog then at the prompt type ping www.Footslog.com press enter, you should get replies that will list the IP number and packet data in bytes that will happen four times and then you will get statistics about the ping. If you get a time out error then try another site, if it happens again then let us know. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I clean out my temp files, history and off-line content every time I shut my computer down. How do you "ping" a site? IP: Logged |

Good idea Nollage ------------------ IP: Logged |

Probably no point, then again who knows. Try pinging the site. Atleast you will know its not the site. Ping helps sometimes, especially when DNS could be down, at that time. Just a thought. aight aight. ------------------ 1 IP: Logged |

Hi all. For about the last week or so I've been having an irritating problem with I.E. 6.0. After about an hour on I have to reboot my PC as I get messges saying that pages can't be found. Closing I.E. and starting it up gives me the same results, "page can't be found." It happens with pages I'm looking for through the search feature and on pages in my favourites. I'm running Windows XP pro on a P-III 550 MHz with 512 Mb. Any ideas? IP: Logged |
