Do you have IE SP1? Go to Help-About and look and tell us what version of IE you have. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I found system restore. However, I don't think going back will help since it has never worked on this computer. What am I missing? IP: Logged |

It seemed to work for a few days and now again my wife switched from the file menu using switch identities and outlook express dissapeared from the screen. When I click on it from the start menu, or from programs, or from the C drive I get an hour glass and outlook express doesn't come up. Also, I hear emails coming in by their sound. However, it doesn't show up in the windows task manager under applications. How can it be running in the background and not be in the task manager. Note: windows messenger icon in the lower right. It has never been set up and was there since the installation. When I try to exit it, it tells me its in use by outlook express or outlook. However, it doesn't show up in the windows task manager under applications. Note: I only have one identity on this computer, mine. The only way to get it up again is to reboot. What's wrong. This was a clean install of XP retail on a new computer with a clean hard drive? I've searched Microsoft's knowledge base and can't find this problem. IP: Logged |

Try this on the start menu remove the outlook from your start menu, right click and hit remove. Then go to the start menu, right click go to properties-customize then add outlook to the start menu then hit apply and ok. If that does not work then let us know. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I just loaded windows xp pro(retail)on a new computer and I am using outlook express for my email. My outlook express, at times, won't open from the start menu. I look at the windows task manager and it isn't running. In order for it to work I need to reboot the computer. The reason I bought a whole new operating system was to avoid these problems. What could be causing this? IP: Logged |
