I'm afraid I don't understand your response. I had established connections with free access to ALL drives on each machine before I re-formatted them. I did not setup accounts on each, other than the single un-passworded user accounts. As it presently stands I am able to access all the fat 32 drives except for the C drives which are NTFS. Are you saying that because the C drives are formatted in the NTFS format I must now have established unique user accounts on each machine? IP: Logged |

You have to establish an account on each machine using the username/password from the other. Merely calling each account "Administrator" does not make them the same user as NT/2K/XP assigns them SID's(Security Identification numbers) that identify them as seperate entities. Administrator from one system is not recognized as the same user on the other machine unless you have a server and a domain. IP: Logged |

I have 2 computers connected through a router. Both machines have fresh formats and the C drives are in NTFS format with WinXP Pro. I have tried to share all hard drives and been successful with the exception of the C drives. Each system has only one operator who is by default the Administrator. When I try to access a C drive I get the error message "Access Denied" check with network admin to obtain permission. I suspect it is the NTFS file system that is the problem. How do I overcome this? Appreciate any assistance. IP: Logged |
