Go to Tools-Internet Optionsthen delete all of your cookies, then delete files and make sure you have delete all offline content checked. Try that and see if that works.

I did what you said. Now I went to hotmail and it asked if I wanted to allow cookies I chose the option that says always allow cookies from this website. It still brought up the screen saying I need to enable cookies.

Okay the world symbol by the words Internet would be the different zones. If this is what you are referring to then, this has nothing to do with cookies. Active X controls and scripts are what these settings are for. Now in Internet Options make sure you are in Privacy. Once there, go to advanced, now for fist party cookies, make sure its set to Prompt. And for 3rd party cookies go to prompt, then hit okay.

Problem is that it doesn't work. In the lower bar the world symbol is there like every other website. My security settings are set to lower to allow cookies and it still doesn't work.

When you go to www.hotmail.com do you see the Privacy Report eye on the lower part of the bar of IE? If so then right click it and go to settings and then always allow on this website, then hit ok, you will need to press f5 to reload hotmail. Also go to Tools-Internet Options-Privacy and set the slider to Medium high, that should work.

I am trying to access hotmail with internet explorer 6.0. It keeps telling me I need to enable cookies. I do not have my firewall up and running and I used Internet options and lowered all security settings and Im still getting the same message. Are there hidden settings that I cannot find?
