Can you run the videos in safe mode, if you need be on the Internet at the time then boot into safe mode with networking support. And are there any error messages?

the newspaper uses Adobe Flash Player 9. I tried to get to the safe mode to run scandisk but am unable to get to safe mode. After reboot and windows 98 comes on screen the control button is supposed to bring up menu that I can switch to safe mode with arrow keys, but menu will not come up.

What application are you using to view the videos? And you may want to run the scandisk in Windows, in safe mode do a through scan fixing all errors

While reading a newspaper online and watch a story on video, after the video is over and trying to change to another story the screen freezes and there is no other way of getting out with rebooting computer. I can watch videos on other sites and mail but not on the newspapers. After reboot I do a scan disk and it shows there are errors on disk. after scandisk everything is ok. Any sugestions?
