Yes, you can repair the registry without going into windows. To do this before the windows splash screen press the F8 key until you get to the advanced boot menu, then from that menu choose command prompt only. Then type scanreg /restore then pick a date before the problems then that should fix the problem if not then let us know. ------------------ For every problem, there is a solution. My win98 hewlett-packard spontaneously restarted and now every time i try to boot up it: 1. Freezes or 2. If i try Safe mode runs the Registry checker I have no idea where my win98 disc is, i think it is gone for good. Is there any way to fix the registry without booting up into windows? IP: Logged |
