Well you will be unable to get the 98Se disc from Microsoft, 98Se’s lifecycle ended a while ago and Microsoft no longer supports that OS, you can still get security updates etc. If there is a computer shop in your area you might want to try there. If you are thinking of buying the software from like Ebay or Amazon I would not do that, whoever ships you the OS, it might not be genuine or they might not give you the license number. ------------------ For every problem, there is a solution. where do you get the 98 SE upgrade disc?...all microsoft offers is Windows XP upgrade...the cannon software launcher wont load into 98 but apparently will in the 98 SE...thanks IP: Logged |

It should be possible to get the camera to work, have you tried to install the software and camera? I don’t know about Linux, the camera might be detected, but does the software support Linux? Upgrading from 98 to 98Se can be done and it is very easy, provided you have the upgrade disk. ------------------ For every problem, there is a solution. with limited (hurricane related)bugdet - purchased a cannon digital camera(S2-IC)..unable to use installer...minimum requiremnet is for 98SE( I have Windows98)...looked around to see how to upgrade from 98 to 98 SE(only upgrade that is offered is homeXT @$200)...should I consider Linux(does it even handle digital files?)..seems like upgrading to 98SE should be possible... thanks IP: Logged |
