I am reading where people with legitimate copies of windows can receive rewards for having rightful ownership of Microsoft’s software instead of pirated ones. “For example, legitimate users will gain access to free, value-added software downloads such as Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and Photo Story 3. MSN Games by Zone.com will be priced at 50 percent off the regular price.” “If a legitimate user can't download Microsoft software because he or she is unknowingly using a pirated copy of Windows, the user will be able to purchase a legitimate copy at a steep discount.” People with paired copies of Windows can still get critical updates, that makes no sense to me. If you want to combat piracy, then don’t patch their machine let it get all kinds of viruses, and spyware, then maybe when their computer is so slow or does not work no more then maybe they will get smart and buy a real copy. Maybe one day in the future before you even get into the Windows the BIOS or something in the computer knows that the copy of windows you have is pirated, and the PC will not even function right because of that. This problem is not limited to Microsoft either but a lot of other software too. ------------------
