How do i speed up my internet connection or web browser on AOL?

The Answer

There are many variable that go into your connection to your ISP.  First make sure you are using the latest AOL release which is AOL 5.0 which is available to download from their web site.  Next, make sure you have a good quality modem that is 56K.  Avoid long cable runs from your modem to your telephone jack.  If the wiring is old in the walls where you are dialing up from your are out of luck.  Some older telephone wiring makes your connection slower.  There are programs available that will tweak your Windows to the optimal settings for your Internet Service Provider.  There are many available on the market that do this.  Here is a list of some of the available programs.  Some are free and some cost a few bucks.
