Description:

I want to know if you can reuse a 3 1/2 floppy disc after you have downloaded data to it. If so how do you erase the data that is on the disc?

Thanks

James G

The Answer

Absolutely.  If you want to erase the files on a disk:  go to the Start button -> programs -> Windows Explorer.  Place the floppy in the floppy drive.  In the Windows Explorer you should see '3 1/2 Floppy (A:), double click on it.  Now in the right pane of Windows Explorer you will see the contents of you floppy disk.  If nothing shows up the disk is blank.  If you see files you can highlight them and press the Delete key and the file will be deleted.  If you want to erase the whole disk you can right click on the '3 1/2 Floppy (A:) in the left pane and select Format.  Now, in the box that pops up, select the 'Quick Erase' under the format type and click Start.  This will erase all files on the disk.
