Description:

After uninstalling Veritec I still have veritec image instead of the standard win98 image on startup.

How do I restore the standard image?

Thanks,

I.K

The Answer

Go to the drive which Windows 98 is installed (probably C:).  You will find a file called logo.sys.  Rename this file to logo.old and the next time you reboot the default logo will load.

logo.sys - is the bitmap loaded at boot up.
logow.sys - is the shutting down logo.
logos.sys - is the safe to shut down logo.
