Footslog Support - Ticket ID 12167 Completed

Date submitted: Sat, November 6 at 12:19:22
Category: Hardware
RAM: 16
Processor: Pentium
MHz: 200MHz
Operating System: Windows 95
The problem:

When I go to Control Panel then System, in the device manager it has a exlamation mark in a yellow circle on the "Standard Floppy Disk Control" and on "Intel 82371SB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller." How do I fix it?

Solution:
The exclamation point inside of the yellow circle indicates a hardware conflict with the device. For your floppy disk: Highlight it and click remove and then reboot. Windows will redetect the hardware and the issues should be solved. If it doesn't redetect it your floppy drive may have failed. For the Intel 82371SB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller: you will need to enter the properties of the hardware done by highlighting the hardware and clicking the properties button. In the box that pops up, select the Resources tab. Either the Interrupt Request or the Input/Output Range will report a conflict in the 'Conflict device list' box. You will have to manually change the resources it uses or go into the device that it is conflicting with and change its resources to a non-conflicting setting. After you make the changes, reboot and recheck the hardware.
