Footslog Support - Ticket ID 12164 Completed

Date submitted: Fri, November 5 at 14:36:17
Category: Software
RAM: 128MB
Processor: Pentium
MHz: 500MHZ
Operating System: Windows 98
The problem:

1. Windows won't start normally. Before it will start, I have to tell it how to run (ex: Normal vs. Safe Mode) 2. My display (NEW, ViewMate 17")is suddenly fuzzy. "Settings" lists only 16 colors and I cant get it to change to more. Is that even the problem? Driver is VGA, SVGA, Vesa ... compatable. Please Help. Thank You.

Solution:
You are using the wrong display adapter (video card) in Windows 98 like you suspect. Your computer is relatively new so your display adapter should be able to display millions of colors. You need to find the exact model of your display adapter, get the drivers for it (which should have come with your PC), and change the display adapter settings in Windows 98 to your adapter. This should fix your start up problems.
