Footslog Support - Ticket ID 12154 Completed

Date submitted: Wed, November 3 at 22:03:07
Category: Software
RAM: 128
Processor: Pentium
MHz: 450
Operating System: Windows 95
The problem:

Have just obtained this new computer on which I have transferred the contents of the hard drive from the old computer (a 486DX33 running Window's 3.1). I need to be able to access and read my old word processing files which are in Amipro 3.0. I can call them up from from a folder on my new computer, but they are unformatted and mostly unreadable. Is there any way that I can convert them to "Word" files so that they would closely resemble the originals in Amipro? They are vital to my work. Any help would be appreciated. ** Appended Wed, November 3 at 22:03:04 **

Solution:
There are supplimental converters available from Microsoft to convert your Amipro files. You didn't specify which verson of Word you are using, so here is the Word 97 converter.

The following supplemental converters are available for Microsoft Word 97:

Windows Write 3.0 or 3.1 (Write32.cnv)
RFT-DCA (Rftdca32.cnv)
Lotus Ami Pro 3.x (Ami332.cnv)
WordStar 3.3-7.0 for MS-DOS and WordStar for Windows 1.0-2.0 (import only) and WordStar 4.0 or 7.0 for MS-DOS (export only) (Wrdstr32.cnv)
Microsoft Word 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x for MS-DOS (Doswrd32.cnv)
The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center. Click the file name below to download the file:
